Following TikTok success, huge social networks like Facebook and YouTube added the video sharing options of the short forms. The campaign was successful for YouTube and attracted billions of users to the new format.

Last Wednesday YouTube reported the new data on their performance. It looks like the past month was successful for the video streaming mogul. They have registered over 1.5 billion active monthly users. They all turned to the new service called Shorts which works similarly to TikTok short videos.

Shorts are not a new product on YouTube. It was created and released 2 years ago. The major species of the service was the ability to add 60 seconds videos on the platform. According to Neal Mohan, the head product officer on YouTube, Shorts quickly turned into one of the most popular products of the company. The slow start did not stop Shorts from getting noticed by billions of people around the world.  Mohan says that the company is planning to support Shorts and consider it a major part of the YouTube network.

In 2021 the company has launched a fund of $100 million for the creators who work on YouTube. They offered the reward to any artists who work together with YouTube on making it the most popular place for users. To receive the reward artists have to provide high-quality and unique content that will be watched by millions of other users. Creators are considered the most important part of the YouTube community. YouTube is trying to engage more of them with numerous benefits.
