Ubisoft Massive to Improve Stealth Mechanics in Star Wars Outlaws
Players who have been frustrated by the challenging stealth mechanics in Star Wars Outlaws can finally relax, as a solution is now in the works to address these concerns. Many gamers have found it exasperating to have their missions fail the moment they're detected by an enemy, forcing them to restart from an earlier point in the game. This abrupt loss of progress has dampened the enjoyment for some players.
However, Ubisoft Massive, the development team behind the game, is fully aware of the issue and has committed to making improvements. In a recent conversation, Julian Gerighty, the creative director acknowledged the difficulty players are facing and assured that changes are on the way. He explained that the current level of difficulty, particularly in the stealth segments, was not what the team intended, and they're working hard to refine the experience to better align with their original vision.
Gerighty went on to say that while the team does not plan to completely remove failure states from the game, there are plenty of simple solutions they are exploring to make the stealth mechanics more forgiving and user-friendly. He noted that these overly challenging moments tend to appear early on in the game, especially in the vast world of Mirogana, which has led to frustration for many players who are just getting started.
The goal, according to Gerighty, is to create a gameplay experience that feels fair and balanced. He emphasized that the current difficulty level was not the team’s original intention and that these issues only became fully apparent later in the development process. Ubisoft Massive is working on a patch to address these concerns, and Gerighty hinted that it could be available within the next week or so, offering much-needed relief for players who have struggled with the game's stealth elements.
For both prospective players and those eager to return to the game, this update is likely to be a welcome improvement. Despite the noted challenges, the game has received praise for its overall design. In his review, managing editor Rob Dwiar highlighted the game’s richly detailed world, breathtaking visuals, and authentic representation of the Star Wars universe, all of which are sure to captivate fans of the franchise.
Star Wars Outlaws is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC, with more updates and enhancements expected to roll out soon, improving the overall experience for players across all platforms.
