Rumors Say That Chassis of iPhone 15 Will Be Made of Titanium, and Its Rear Edges Will Be Curved

06 Dec 2022

According to a new rumor, the new 2023 iPhone model will replace the era of squared design with a new titanium case that is shaped more elegantly with its curved rear edges. Twitter user @ShrimpApplePro claims that this solution is intended to create a new border, as was previously the case in the 16-inch and 14-inch MacBook Pro models.

The new material for the body, however, will not affect the presence of the back glass, meanwhile, the insider confirms that the information is still quite raw and needs to be rechecked. Rumors about a titanium case for the iPhone have already appeared more than once before the release of the new model, this became especially true for the 14 model, while the iPhone 14 and its Pro Max version have a chassis made of stainless steel and aluminum.

Apple, with its actions to research titanium cases and obtain a patent for their use, only fuels such rumors. Due to the fact that titanium has increased scratch resistance and at the same time high strength, the use of this metal will be a good feature for new versions of the iPhone, MacBook, and iPod. However, this metal is difficult to work with, so Apple has developed a special multi-step process that will bring this material to the desired glossy absolutely smooth look. The company does not stop there, Apple also wants to develop a thin oxide coating to reduce the visibility of fingerprints on the device.

Thus, according to the source, Apple will soon present an iPhone and iPad with a titanium case. And although the company has already released Apple Watch, where this metal was used in the case, but titanium was not used for smartphones and tablets.

Should we expect a titanium case in the new iPhone model? How much better do you think a device with such a case will be? Please share your opinion below.
