Riot Games Reveals Plans To Establish A New Emea Esports Arena In Berlin

29 Nov 2023

The League of Legends EMEA Championship, previously referred to as the League of Legends European Championship, hasn't only changed its name, but also expanded to included Middle-East and North African competitions in its tournament line up. Despite this rebranding, the acronym LEC remains unchanged for the regional league. In response to this significant change, Riot Games will be renaming the LEC Studio as the Riot Games Arena starting 2024 season.

In addition to rebranding, the venue itself is set for a major revamp aimed at improving fan experiences as well as enhancing broadcasting and production capabilities. Furthermore, with these upgrades, games like Valorant Champions Tour EMEA and other EMEA tournaments such as Game Changers and Challengers Ascension will be hosted at what used to be known as LEC Studio.

According to Alberto Guerrero - Riot's Head of Esports for EMEA - this grand-scale venue encapsulates their long-term commitment towards fostering the future growth of esports in this region. This upgraded world-leading esports facility is destined to become a hub catering all our competitions in EMEA.

Additional upgrade details on Riot Games Arena are expected before the commencement of 2024 LEC season. However, initial plans reveal that it will feature three broadcast booths dedicated entirely for streaming purposes along.
