Palworld Patch Enhances Base Protection and Fixes Critical Bugs

02 Feb 2024

A much-awaited update for Palworld has arrived, bringing with it a slew of enhancements, most notably a reduction in the speed at which fire spreads, potentially ravaging players' bases. This important patch is available for gamers on both Steam and Xbox Series X/S platforms.

Topping the list of updates, the peril of swift-fire damage compromising the survival game's structures is now mitigated, granting players a fighting chance to safeguard their home turf. Additionally, a significant bug that previously led to game crashes after enlisting a whopping 7,000 Pals has been addressed. With this patch, not only are such crashes prevented, but there is an added safeguard to prevent saved data from becoming corrupt as a result of the immense Pal roster. It’s noted, however, that any saved files previously impacted by this issue will not revert to their pre-corrupted state, though the developer of Palworld is currently exploring solutions.

The update also brings fair play improvements. It now prevents players from usurping another user's Pal when its health dips below 30%. This tactic, surprisingly utilized by some, has been curtailed, though whether any Pals snatched this way will be returned to their original owners remains unclarified by the patch notes.

Among other significant changes, an issue causing doubled damage to players on dedicated servers has been rectified. This fix is particularly relevant in Palworld, as sustaining fatal harm can greatly hinder a player's progress.

Palworld's explosive growth is evident, with its reach reaching 19 million players in less than two weeks, marking it as one of the most successful Xbox Game Pass debuts in history. It's worth mentioning that the 19 million figure represents the player base and not actual sales since Xbox Game Pass members gain instant access to Palworld across any level of the service.
