Instagram Introduces Quiet Mode and Parental Supervision Tools to Help Create a Healthy Online Environment

22 Jan 2023

Instagram has recently announced the introduction of Quiet Mode, a feature designed to help users set boundaries with their friends and followers, as well as parental supervision tools to help create a healthy online environment. Quiet Mode is especially targeted at teenage users and will help them take time for themselves and focus on their studies without having to worry about notifications and messages.

Quiet Mode will silence incoming notifications and auto-reply to direct messages and set the user's account status to 'In Quiet Mode' to notify followers that the user is not currently active on the app. The feature will also prompt teenage users to enable Quiet Mode during the night, as well as provide them with the option to enable parental supervision tools.

These tools will enable parents to monitor their children's usage of the app, as well as provide them with the ability to set screen time limits, restrict app usage to certain times of the day, and block certain accounts or features.

The feature is aimed at encouraging people to spend less time on the app, and is part of Instagram's effort to create a healthy online environment for its users. In addition, the company has also announced that it will be introducing tools to help prevent bullying and harassment on the platform, as well as features to protect users' privacy.

While the feature is available for everyone, it is especially targeted at teenage users, who are more likely to be affected by social media and online interactions. We hope that these tools will help users create a positive online experience and encourage healthy online habits.
