EA Desires For You To Have The Ability To Voice Characters In Video Games

We know by now that a submitted patent doesn't necessarily mean the technology will be used. However, patents do provide insight into what video game companies are potentially developing and planning for the future. EA has recently provided a prime example of this.
As highlighted by Idle Sloth on X, EA has patented a method that allows players to use their own voice for in-game characters. Essentially, this system records your spoken words and then generates your voice for use in a video game. This would eliminate the need to pick a voice for your character in an RPG; instead, you could make the protagonist sound just like you.
This technology could also be utilized in sports games where you create a football star for the upcoming EA Sports FC title or perhaps your soldier in Battlefield.
